Beechen Cliff team compete in CoSpace Rescue Finals in Leipzig

A team of four sixth formers travelled to Leipzig this month to compete in the world finale of the CoSpace Rescue competition. They had won the UK competition in Ipswich earlier this year, which earned them a place in the final s to compete with teams across the world.

The CoSpace Rescue Challenge is the official sub-league of the RoboCupJunior Challenge. In CoSpace Rescue, a team has to develop appropriate strategies for both real and virtual autonomous robots to navigate through their respective real and virtual arenas and collect objects while competing with another robot that is attempting to outperform you at the same mission.

The team had worked very hard not only in competing in the first competition, but also contacting potential sponsors to raise the funds in order to be able to send themselves to the 4 day competition.

The team would like to thank Mogers Drewett, Maven Consultancy UK, A Large Evil Corporation, Rocketmakers & Savills estate agents for their kind sponsorship.
