On Thursday, 16th March the Computing department took a team of Year 9 and Year 10 computer science students to the University of Bath to take part in Crypto Challenge (part of the Bath Taps into Science festival).
The teams of students competed to solve increasingly difficult code breaking challenges, resulting in a hidden message, such as GPS co-ordinates or a question. They then had to find what was at those co-ordinates or the answer to the question, hidden somewhere on the University of Bath campus! Students learned about code breaking and cryptography as well as using team working and problem solving skills. It was a thoroughly interesting and highly enjoyable day.
